Pub dubbed Bournemouth's 'home of live sport' offering something for everyone
'THERE's always something on to watch' at Bournemouth's home of live sports.
The George Tapps is the Bournemouth Echo's pub of the week.
In the heart of the town centre, The George Tapps continues to be a top destination for live sports watching, with an extensive range of games on display each day.
The Stonegate-owned pub is located on Old Christchurch Road, close to many student nightlife favourites. However, the pub aims to be "50/50", welcoming locals and students alike.

Led under the management of Richard Bannister, the pub has just invested in five new Sky Q boxes, meaning five live games can be broadcast at once.

Richard said: "We're the home of live sport in Bournemouth. A couple of places try to copy us, but they're not quite [there]. We've always had that reputation. If we can get it on the screen, we will.
"There's always something on to watch."
In the last year, both the men's and women's Euros saw a huge turnout of hundreds of supporters on site to watch the nail-biting final matches.
The pub has screens both inside and in its beer garden. In total, The George Tapps has 21 televisions, with four projectors for large-scale viewing and two 65-inch and 75-inch purpose-built garden TVs, which are anti-glare for outdoor viewing.
The team is keen to continue offering a diverse range of live sports, from NFL to the Rugby World Cup, aside from the mainstream offering.

"We won't just show football, we're trying to aim for everyone", Richard said.
More recently, he added, Formula One is becoming increasingly popular.
While enjoying a match, customers can enjoy food from the pub's extensive menu, which offers favourites such as fish and chips, burgers and pies, as well as breakfast and a Sunday roast.
Daily offers on food and drink take place every week, including Wednesday steak and a drink from £10.50, curry and a drink from £9 on a Thursday and 2-for-1 on all desserts on a Sunday.
Customers can also collect points and rewards using the MiXR app, every time a purchase is made at The George Tapps.
The George Tapps is open everyday from 10am to 1am.
